Celebrated for his velvety baritone and refined elegance, Coles climbed to fame first as a jazz pianist and later as a crossover pop icon, he delivered timeless classics like Unforgettable and The Christmas Song that continue to resonate across generations. As one of the first Black artists to host a nationally televised variety show, Cole also broke racial barriers in American entertainment. His smooth phrasing, warmth, and sophistication shaped the sound of modern vocal jazz and pop, leaving a legacy that still inspires singers around the world.
