The Canadian garage punk psych rockers know a thing or two about getting loud and rowdy, and their ear-scorchin, headbangin, adrenaline-pumpin music rips so hard and fast itll feel like youre being launched clean out of reality. The bands been givinr since 2015. What began as a part-time project between Cam Hilborn (vox, songwriter, guitar) and Aurora Evans (drums) got cranked right up to a full-blown international shredfest over the last decade. Theyve quietly become one of the most successful independent rock bands to emerge from Canada in a generation. Wine Lips started out in and around Toronto, expanded to Ontario and Quebec, then knocked out a cheeky international tour in Hong Kong and China in 2018. From there, like their music, they never slowed down. Theyve ripped hundreds of sets all across North America, Europe, and Asia, playing big fat often sold-out shows at some legendary venues. For three years, they were pretty much always on the road right up until the end of 2024 when they decided to chill a bit on all the touring to focus on writing their new record TV Dinner. Now thats what I call music!. Iggy Pop BBC RadioIts pure adrenaline, its noise, its intense, its refreshing, and it feels life-giving. The garage-psych bands new album is, for all intents and purposes, pretty fucking crazy. Exclaim!Theres a sensuality and strong sense of controlled chaos that these Canadians bring to life on the record. New Noise MagazineBUDDY WYNKOOPHow to describe Buddy Wynkoop? I dunnocram Parquet Courts+Devo+Fugazi and a dash of IDLES into a half-empty jar of crunchy-style JIF (old school glass, no plastic) then send that jar rolling down Portlands SW College St. until it bounces and smashes all over the asphalt. Make a PBJ with the wreckage. Stuff the whole thing in your mouth and wash it down with Monster Energy. Or the beverage of your choice.
